A garden fountain should be in harmony with its surroundings, and nothing is more natural in a garden than stone. Stone fountains come in a variety of styles and sizes. Some of the fountains closely imitate the shapes and textures of natural stone while others take on the appearance of hand carved sculptures.
Many stone garden fountains are made from cast stone that is shaped from a mold to give it form and definition. Combining stone with some sort of binding agent allows for greater flexibility in the design of the garden fountain. Because they come from rocks, stone garden fountains are literally hard as a rock. They last so long they frequently become family heirlooms.
